The first official week is done. I lost another 1.5 pounds and my body fat is down a little over 2% - woo hoo!!! Todd and Timmy will both be doing their weigh in's tonight....updates will come later (hopefully from them since they should be posting too).
How did the first week go for me?Overall it was good. I enjoyed the food and never felt hungry, but spending so much extra time at the store and in the kitchen is going to be very hard when I go back to work full-time. I guess we will just have to eat a little later at night.
My body is starting to get used to the workouts. I've been doubling up quite a bit because I can't give up my morning workouts (I need the girl time while running and chatting and since I teach spin I can't give that up either) and I've been trying to do the P90X workouts with the boys at night. The plyometrics and weights kicked my trash, and the yoga was tough but difficult to follow. Doing yoga from a dvd is always hard because you can't hold the pose and look at the tv and no-one is there to correct your form.
I've been thinking about what advantages and disadvantages I have in this contest. So I thought I'd jot them down.
Advantages:- I'm already used to working out daily
- I'm starting in fairly good shape
- I know what I'm doing with nutrition and fitness
- I've successfully dieted before (4 times to be exact)
- I hate saying I'll do something and then not doing it
- I don't gain weight easily (so what comes off usually stays off with little effort)
Disadvantages:- I'm the oldest
- I'm a girl (and those darn boys always lose weight faster)
- I just had a baby so my body isn't as strong as normal
- I can't starve myself for quick results (or my sweet Sophie will suffer and that's definitely not the goal)
